1. BRIDGEES (Building Resilient, Inclusive Skills Development Via Guided Education and Entrepreneurship STRATEGIES )is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower youth and strengthen local authorities in tackling challenges at the nexus of migration, labor market gaps, and economic development for candidate countries to the EU enlargement process. It builds on results from Erasmus+ capacity- building in the Western Balkans project ‘BalVET’, and EntreComp pilots in VET and HEIs, youth work and other non-formal education, Policy towards helping ministries or regional authorities adopt EntreComp as a reference for skills recognition, lifelong learning, or workforce development, and digital learning. Thus, BRIDGEES builds on EU-level innovation and can adapt proven approaches (e.g., digital badges, modular training, civic-entrepreneurial competences) to the Western Balkans and Horizon partner/programming regions. BRIDGEES creates a network of living lab knowledge hubs (LLKHs) linking piloting carried out in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegoving, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Turkey to support skills development and entrepreneurship for the region, connected via a digital community platform (BCP), a learning management system, and digital learning and teaching material. It aligns with ongoing EUTPs (EUTP) and relevant Horizon Europe research on migration, democracy, and the twin transition, ensuring coherence with European mobility and skills frameworks. International studies from the OECD and ILO on skills anticipation, employability, and green jobs inform the project’s curriculum design and policy engagement. Nationally, partner HEIs and VET providers contribute outcomes from prior projects on digitalization, civic engagement, and labor innovation. These links are formalized through National Outreach Committees, which act as structured knowledge-transfer mechanisms. In this way, BRIDGEES ensures that existing evidence and innovations are embedded into its training, digital tools, and policy outputs. A Monitoring Dashboard is developed to track progress and impact across key project activities.
